During cataract eye surgery, the clouded lens is removed and replaced with a plastic one. One method involves using ultrasound to break up the cataract. This is called Phacoemulsification. A small incision is made in the eye and the cataract is removed by suction. An intraocular lens is then implanted. This lens becomes a permanent part of the eye which cant be seen or felt.
Another method of removing the clouded lens is called Extracapsular surgery. A longer incision is made on the side of the cornea and the core of the cloudy lens is removed in one piece. The rest of the lens is removed by suction. Discuss the benefits and risks of each of these procedures with your doctor.
Cataract eye surgery maintains an impressive 98 percent success rate. As it is considered a necessary, rather than cosmetic, surgery, insurance usually covers the cost. The two types of lenses used in cataract surgery are Monofocal and Multifocal.

Strabismus, or Lazy Eye, can be corrected with Eye muscle surgery. The procedure makes the eye appear straight, not turned inward, up, down or to the side.
Any patient who suffers from such eye problems can be treated with Eye muscle surgery. However, there are some conditions for which this treatment is not recommended. Two such conditions include a fibrous band or a nerve palsy of the eye muscle.
How Is the Surgery Performed?
When eye muscle surgery is performed on children a general anesthesia is required. Adults can usually tolerate local anesthesia. Generally, the procedure is performed in an outpatient hospital in a same day surgery setting.
Prior to eye muscle surgery, the doctors take thorough measurements to determine the degree of muscle imbalance. They will then know how much surgery should be performed on the eye muscle. The first step of the surgical procedure is to separate the eye muscle from the side of the eyeball.
The eye muscle is then reattached at another position. Surgeons use special stitches that do not need to be removed after surgery. Should the |

Trying to look better can do a lot for your self-esteem. A simple eye lift plastic surgery to eliminate the first signs of aging can improve your life and your relations with others.
The Surgery
One of the most popular procedures in the field of plastic surgery is the eyelift. This type of cosmetic surgery removes excess skin and fat from the eyelids. It is most often done for cosmetic reasons, but improved vision can also be attained, if regular vision is impeded by skin folds.
In most cases, the surgeon reconstructs the eyelid crease to improve the eyes appearance. Furthermore, the excess skin and fat from the lower eyelids can be removed. Drooping eyebrows and bags under the eyes may also be adjusted.
Side Effects and Complications
Eye lift plastic surgery is a safe procedure, and complications are rare. However, you should be aware of the side effects such as visible pink scars in the first few weeks, blurred vision, and the eye may be reddened. Bruising and swelling are normal for a week after the surgery, |

Cosmetic eye surgery is used to generate a more youthful and refreshed appearance by removing fat, muscle and excess skin from the area around the eyes. The surgery can be performed on either the lower or upper eyelids, or both.
Why Have Cosmetic Eye Surgery?
As you grow older, the skin around your eyes becomes less elastic. You might develop loose skin folds on the upper eyelids and visible wrinkles on the lower lids. Your muscles can also weaken and excess fat cell may cause your eyelids to look baggy. Cosmetic eye surgery can correct these issues by removing excess skin, fat or both from the area around your eyes. Baggy eyes are not always the result of aging. You can also develop this early as a result of a family inherited trait.
Cosmetic eye surgery can eliminate loose skin folds from your upper eyelids which can interfere with your vision. Cosmetic eye surgery won't improve crow's feet or dark colored circles under your eyes. It is essential to have a discussion with your eye surgeon before the operation in order to develop |

LASIK eye surgery has enabled millions globally to see clearly without using spectacles or contact lenses. It is the most popular refractive surgical procedure because it is almost painfree and corrected vision occur the following day. LASIK is an acronym for laser assisted in- situ keratomileusis.
Five facts you should know before deciding to go ahead with LASIK eye surgery are listed below.
1. What is LASIK? It is a refractory surgery procedure for correcting short and long sightedness. During the procedure a thin flap is made either by a cutting device called microkeratome or by the newer IntraLase laser. The surgeon raises the flap, then ablates the required corneal tissue with an excimer laser to reshape the cornea. The flap is then replaced over the area where the tissue was ablated. This flap acts as protective cover over the treated cornea. The doctor performing the procedure uses a computer to calculate and prepare the laser for the particular refractive problem of the patient.
2. What to do before LASIK eye surgery? When seriously considering this surgical procedure, the most important thing to |
